Technical Operator

Set course. Keep the fleet moving. Help build our quality. There are moments when everything comes together: a ship leaving a shipyard, a captain departing with peace of mind, a schedule that is on track. Behind those moments is one person who is firmly in control. And that could be you.

Our fleet is growing, our ambitions are growing with it, and that is why we are looking for a Technical Operator. A professional who understands that technology is never “just” technology, but the backbone of our operation.

Your role

Every day, you bring clarity, structure and craftsmanship. No two days are the same: sometimes you are on deck during an inspection round, sometimes you dive in Marad, sometimes you consult with captains or suppliers to find smart solutions to last-minute challenges. You are the one who keeps our ships on course, monitors our standards and thinks ahead where others only react. You ensure that the fleet continues to sail.

Key responsibilities

  • Monitoring and optimising the maintenance system (Marad)
  • Captains, technicians and suppliers; you are the point of contact.
  • Ship visits, technical inspections and keenly identifying areas for improvement.
  • Planning, preparing and supervising repairs, shipyard visits and class surveys.

You will mainly work in the Drechtsteden region, often at the office in Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht and several times a year at our office in Switzerland.

We are looking for

You like structure, but can adapt when the situation demands it. You are technically strong, communicate clearly and feel at home in an environment where quality and safety always come first.

  • MBO working and thinking level
  • Nautical or maritime background in inland shipping
  • Preferably experience as a captain
  • You speak Dutch, English and German
  • You live in (the region of) Drechtsteden
  • You work accurately, have integrity and know how to get others on board with your approach
  • You are solution-oriented, pragmatic and decisive when necessary
What we offer:

You will become part of a small, driven team where you can really make an impact. With you on board, there will be three of you working in this department. That means short lines of communication, trust and room to fully utilise your expertise.

  • A role with responsibility and variety
  • Modern resources and support to do your job well
  • An excellent package of employment conditions with a 13th month’s salary and a bonus scheme
  • Room to develop, technically, professionally and personally
  • Cosy office drinks and fun team outings
  • A gym membership to stay fit
  • A delicious, catered lunch every day
Interested?

We look forward to meeting you. Send your CV and cover letter via our application form and tell us why you are the Technical Operator who will strengthen our fleet.
